Dogs in Art
Van Eyck's Andolfini Wedding
William Wegman
The symbolism of dogs in art can have many interprtations. When I use dogs in my work I use them as as metaphor for the male sex drive: like a dog in heat. Like Koons' balloon dogs, I have used this similar image in an older piece of work and its all about sex. This is the wrap up of the week, so I think that I will just post some work from various artists that incorporate the image of the canine. Dogs symbolism can mean loyalty, companionship, health, future prosperity, protection or service.
Take a look at some of the art with dogs.
